Know that we are in the time of deception spoken of by the Lord Jesus and His Apostles; we are in a highly polluted world where deception thrives from the topmost echelon height to the grassroots of the society. We are in a time when magicians do no longer parade themselves openly the way they used to be known. They do not have the known telltale as it was in the time of old. They don’t do body-art of decorating their bodies with shells and cowries, or rubbing local chalks on their faces to look fearful on the street or in the marketplaces like before. Everything is revolving in our present age and time. Today, satanists, enchanters, necromancers, cultists, now dress in designer’s three-piece suits like you and me. They package themselves in expensive shoes, Giorgio Armani perfume and powerful eyeglasses to look tush. They even carry bigger Bibles these days so that you will not recognize them. Our Lord Jesus Christ warned,“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? 19Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20Therefore by their fruits you will know them. 21“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in Heaven. 22Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your Name, cast out demons in Your Name, and done many wonders in Your Name?’ 23And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!”MATTHEW 7:15-16, 19-23 NKJV.

 KANU Nwankwo

One should ponder what is T.B. Joshua’s gain in deceiving, destroying, and killing people? The answer is simple ―as an agent of satan, T.B. Joshua need higher ranking in the dark world because they are to kill, steal and destroy for their master to be relevant to him.

“Today, satanists, enchanters, necromancers, cultists, now dress in designer’s three-piece suits like you and me. They package themselves in expensive shoes, Giorgio Armani perfume and powerful eyeglasses to look tush. They even carry bigger Bibles these days so that you will not recognize them.”

This smart football star, Kanu Nwankwo, cheated death by not given heed to the ungodly counsel of T.B. Joshua. Kanu’s younger brother visited the Synagogue ahead of him on one Sunday gathering; we believe he was sent to check how things were on that faithful day. Possibly they had watched the Synagogue fake TV programs, hence, they came; or T.B. Joshua might have sent his underdogs on mission to locate them when he heard in the news about the ailing Kanu, to score cheap points as usual. footballerIn any case, Mr. Nwankwo himself was in the Synagogue the following week, on a Tuesday if I can remember vividly. T.B. Joshua brought him into the studio where I worked as the Synagogue editor/voice over artist to perform enchantment on him. To impress Mr. Nwankwo, it took T.B. Joshua more than 2 hours of shaking his right hand, and leg, and widening his eyes on this field maestro to intimidate him, under the best two camera-men which the Synagogue could boast of at the time (KK and Segun). A brand-new Panasonic HD Camera bought from London was brought out from the store for this occasion, supported by the regular Sony M3500 camera were used. T.B. Joshua desperately wanted Kanu to fall flat on his face as a sensational show. T.B. Joshua engaged the young footballer with all his enchanting antics out of his demonic arsenal, but the tall gangling striker stood his ground before him like the rock of Gibraltar with his eyes wide opened fixed on T.B. Joshua.

Fake healing by Fatai alias T.B. Joshua

After so much effort, and the guy refused to fall down, T.B. Joshua declared Kanu free of his heart problem, but common sense or should I say– destiny guided Mr. Nwankwo to seek a heart specialist for a second opinion. When he did, Aghast! The former prognosis was confirmed.T.B. Joshua was at it again, he lied! Kanu was not healed in the Synagogue as T.B. Joshua declared. Kanu surrendered himself to a heart correctional surgery against the backdrop of T.B. Joshua’s opinion, who continued kicking vigorously against the surgery decision as they wheeled the striker to the Theater. T.B. Joshua placed numerous telephone calls to Kanu on his hospital bed, reaffirming to him that he, T.B. Joshua had healed him. I was there when T.B. Joshua gave up and said on a final note to him, “If that is your manager’s decision, ok, but the doctors would find nothing when they cut you open.” It was pathetic to hear that the doctors found serious issues inside Mr. Kanu’s heart when they opened him up, which they corrected medically.

Of course, God can heal, the scripture said so, and He still heals JEREMIAH 30:17; ISAIAH 53:5; EXODUS 15:26.God heals in His sovereign will, since He created our body fearfully and wonderfully according to GENESIS 1:27; PSALMS 1239:14.He also gave the medical doctors grace and knowledge to treat. The medical profession acknowledged this fact by their motto:GOD HEALS WE CARE. Now, we must be careful on how we go about faith healing, because there are people like T.B. Joshua who carry things to an extreme of showbiz, and God has never intended healing that way.The point I am trying to make here is that T.B. Joshua is not of God, he is a magician, a performer, a conjurer, forecaster, and a sorcerer who has nothing of Jesus Christ, the true healer in him.

Finally, Kanu recuperated from the hospital after his heart’s correctional surgery and returned to the career he loved so much. He never gave a thought for the Synagogue or T.B. Joshua who would have sent him to an early grave. He did more good for himself, his family and the Nation at large. What if he had listened to T.B. Joshua as Ruben Kruger and other gullible did?

“We are in a time when magicians do no longer parade themselves openly the way they used to be known. They do not have the known telltale as it was in the time of old.”

When T.B. Joshua realized how he had lost ample opportunity to be famous through riding on Kanu’s name and achievement; and the medical personnel had stolen his show; T.B. Joshua became frantically desperate to reclaim the lost ground. First, to fan his ego, T.B. Joshua invited some cheap and lay-about journalists who frequently eat crumbs under his table, and released the video tape of him presumably administer healing to Kanu to them (what he knows best to do), blowing tantrum by claiming to have been the one who healed Kanu, stupidity plus illiteracy blinded him so much that he forgot how millions of people all over the world had kept Kanu in their prayers while he was under surgical blade. To drive his point home, T.B. Joshua showed the journalists the photo frame of one funny jesus which he had presented to Kanu as a souvenir and begged the journalists to help him leak and circulate the news to the gullible public. The efforts of circulating the news had no positive impact on the populace. Sensible people knew how Kanu was operated upon to correct his heart malfunction. The soft sell journalists only wasted their time and journalistic intelligence on T.B. Joshua’s cheap destructive fame pursuits.

Happy Sunday brethren! Hope you  are having awesome time in the presence of God, I am. Let me share this with you:

Its been a while I mixed with sunday sunday gatherings of believers. Today, I woke up around 4am and while I was trying to read my Bible, taking  warm lemon water and charging my phone; it impressed on my heart to join other children of God for a worship service. I lingered a little bit at home watching CNN to listen to the news around the world, but I finally made it on time to the gatherings of believers which is very close to my place. I don’t believe in travelling from Judea to Jerusalem to worship God according to the Lord Jesus when He said,  “Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
John 4:21‭-‬24 NKJV
Yes It is better you fellowship around your neighbourhood, where people can know your character outside of church  service, not by crossing seven land and seven rivers to where you will go and pretend to be who you are not at home for some hours like actors and actresses. Again, I do not have preference as in the name of a gathering centre, so far they believe in what I believe in,  it is about Jesus Christ, it is fine by me.  So, this morning, as I trecked along the road and greets my neighbours nicely and invites passersby to join me in a friendly chitty chat to follow me to worship, I arrived at the hotel that housed the gathering on time to sit in the front seat and we truly enjoyed His presence in worship. After a while, an usher whispered into my ears to leave where I occupied in the front seat  to the back, I told him if he was not kidding I  would be heading home; so he simply let me be, I am in my Father’s house damn it, if it is in your house, you may tell me where to seat. Anyway, Service progressed nicely with prayers, announcement, and we got the shortest sermon I’ve ever heard by a gentleman who said he was in a hurry to go somewhere as if he was hired to make appearance. I thought within me why they did not engage someone like me who have all the time to talk about His Kingdom.

Then it happened before the speaker stepped down from the podium,,, he said the spirit of God told him to invites  people who want this year to be memorable for them in terms of financial blessings to the altar area for prayers if they are ready to give money in return even if they don’t have the money he called out  right there, they must bring the money to the Pastor  latest 12pm tomorrow afternoon or else God will not take it from them again, the blessing will be revoked. He said It is this giving that will make their 2017 great. This man strategically targeted three levels of individuals; the poor, medium class and the rich as he apportioned three package of levies on them. In no time the gullibles as usual quickly rushed out. He promised them great fortune in return. I asked myself if God has turned to money doubler? What is this evil in  the holy place? What is wrong with believers? What is wrong with the preachers? Must you con people of God or armtwist them because you have need? For mutual respect, understanding and openness, why can’t you just ask in accordance to Matt. 7:7? What about those who fell for his gimmicks and schemes, don’t they read their Bibles? Where was it written in the Bible to peddle “thus says the Lord”? These kind of people must have been patronizing casino as they are looking for a quick rich avenue. Hummmnnn….. My heart went out to those who do not know their right from their left because they are lazy to test all spirits with the infallible Word of God which they don’t have time to read, and if you don’t read it, how will you know the Truth, how will the Truth sets you free? I became restless in my spirit, and I turned to the man that sat beside me who is one of their ministers, and asked; Sir, may I ask you something? He obliged. I said according to the Bible which says,  ” know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. I Timothy 3:15 NKJV

The pillar and the ground of Truth

If this place is the pillar and ground of truth, Can you point to me where this kind of event is written in our constitution (The Bible). He mumbled some things he was not sure of, and I said to him, sir, why could he not have taught the people the principles of giving according to the scripture, and leave the rest to their conscience,  the message of Jesus Christ according to Matthew 6:33 says, “seek first the Kingdom of God and its righteousness and your needs will be automatically met (paraphrased). This man does not even care how people live their lives for God, both believers and unbelievers were invited to take part in this money doubling exercise inside the church  because he did that before making altar call without warning those that have not received Christ  that if they are not living right for God, His blessings is not meant for them. Why must we deceive people to give inside the church? The man  quickly excused himself from me that he was to take Sunday School class. On my way out, I engaged another couple which I saw amongst the gullible that went forward for the exercise. We chat about the event and I see that they are not grounded in the Word to know better.

For the unbeliever, the fear of God is the fear of the judgment of God and eternal death, which is eternal separation from God (Luke 12:5; Hebrews 10:31). For the believer, the fear of God is something much different. The believer’s fear is reverence of God. Hebrews 12:28-29 is a good description of this: “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our ’God is a consuming fire.’” This reverence and awe is exactly what the fear of God means for Christians. This is the motivating factor for us to surrender to the Creator of the Universe.

Proverbs 1:7 declares, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge.” Until we understand who God is and develop a reverential fear of Him, we cannot have true wisdom. True wisdom comes only from understanding who God is and that He is holy, just, and righteous. Deuteronomy 10:12, 20-21 records, “And now, O Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways, to love Him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Fear the LORD your God and serve Him. Hold fast to Him and take your oaths in His Name. He is your praise; He is your God, who performed for you those great and awesome wonders you saw with your own eyes.” The fear of God is the basis for our walking in His ways, serving Him, and, yes, loving Him.

Some redefine the fear of God for believers to “respecting” Him. While respect is definitely included in the concept of fearing God, there is more to it than that. A biblical fear of God, for the believer, includes understanding how much God hates sin and fearing His judgment on sin—even in the life of a believer. Hebrews 12:5-11 describes God’s discipline of the believer. While it is done in love (Hebrews 12:6), it is still a fearful thing. As children, the fear of discipline from our parents no doubt prevented some evil actions. The same should be true in our relationship with God. We should fear His discipline, and therefore seek to live our lives in such a way that pleases Him.

Believers are not to be scared of God. We have no reason to be scared of Him. We have His promise that nothing can separate us from His love (Romans 8:38-39). We have His promise that He will never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). Fearing God means having such a reverence for Him that it has a great impact on the way we live our lives. The fear of God is respecting Him, obeying Him, submitting to His discipline, and worshipping Him in awe.

We asked when will deception stopped? When there is no fear or love of God, we degenerates to the level of animals that were created on the same sixth day with man; living in the jungle of survival. This should not be so. Read The Word Joshua 1:7-9, so that no one will rip you off. Please Do not allow anyone to deceive you in the name of the Lord.

Do not hesitate to share your thoughts after reading. God bless.

I write this for others to learn through my personal experience of over a decade in a cult community called The Synagogue “church” of all nations, Ikotun-Egbe, Lagos, Nigeria. The term cult is hard to define. However, the Bible does not use the word “cult,” the idea is there – at least in seed form. It is a self-willed opinion that rejects the authority of truth, leads to division, and this causes the formation of a sect. We all live in the information age. Information has become a consumer product. We need to be concerned about from whom we get our information. Where we get out information from? Is the information censored? Is it Accurate? Is it Heresy? Is it Fact? Is it undiluted Truth? How do we know? In addition, who is accountable for deliberate misinformation when it is crucial? However, during the twentieth century, the term cult has become laden with negative and pejorative connotations. These negative associations can include ideas of ‘brainwashing’, conversion, and abuse. I have once lived in a cult environment for many years in the Synagogue “church” of all nations; it is not always easy to recognize the fruit of cults on the surface. You have to dig down to the roots through what they teach, and their character (fruit), if you are caught in one, may God send you help. Sometimes the cultish behaviours do not manifest until you have integrated into the community. At that point, it is harder to escape – but Jesus can set you free if you set your heart to go through the door into true Christianity, Amen. Cult is a group that deviates from the doctrines and practices of historic Christianity and has an inordinate loyalty to one leader, whose beliefs are not found in Scripture. Cult leaders, or false teachers often believe that they alone possess the truth. Though in Nigeria, we have not experienced such a gory tragedies as it happened in America, but yet, we have had the likes of Rev. King, who would become deviously lawless to set a devotee ablaze over sex; thank God he is cooling his unrepentant heart off in the gallow today. We have the likes of T.B. Joshua who would stop at nothing to make sacrifices of human lives on the altar of greed, love of money and worldly fame. TbJoshua sexually abusing underage girls to maintain his demonic power and his status quo in the occult. Are we going to fold our arms and wait until a more horrific than September 19th, 2014 in the synagogue “church” of all nation, repeat itself  before we starts taking precautionary measures in our minds, families and in our religious society? In November of 1978, nine hundred people in Guyana, South America drank a deadly grape drink at the behest of cult figure Jim Jones. Everyone that heard it was mortified. In 1993, David Koresh led seventy-six souls to their deaths in the Waco, Texas compound of the Branch Davidians. Again, a cultist mentality was evident. Formerly known as Boston Movement; International Church of Christ, led by mind-control artist, Kip McKean. Members of this movement are slavishly dominated by the powers that be – ultimately by McKean himself.

They oppose critical thinking versus demanding that people think for themselves. Cult members must accept what the cult leader believes without ever challenging their doctrines. They do not want their members to think critically for themselves. They Dishonour the family unit versus insisting on the biblical priority of the family unit: Children/ members are taught to be more loyal to the leaders than to their parents. Women are taught to be more loyal to the leaders than to their husbands, and husbands are taught to accept this as normal behaviour. They use scriptures such as, “Jesus came to bring a sword, not peace” or “one must give up brothers, sisters, wife, parents, and house for the kingdom and be a true follower.” Children often become the most hurt because of strict rules enforced on them, they can be sexually abused by these pervert leaders. They lose their childhood innocence and are deeply affected, being unable to adjust later in life. The religious systems that are not balanced can be socially and psychologically disastrous for innocent children. They Isolates members and penalizing them for leaving versus helping them to do God’s will: Cults isolate their people from their families, the church, and society. They reject anyone who leave and warn them, saying that they will be judge by God or will lose God’s best if they leave. People are taught to make lifelong commitments to the group. Some groups teach that their members must get permission before joining another minister. They sought for inappropriate loyalty to their leaders versus loyalty and connecting people to Jesus: Cults seek to connect their members to the cult leader and require loyalty to him instead of to Jesus. Loyalty is defined as not questioning the leader. It is very dangerous, when the leader cannot be questioned.
They Crosses biblical boundaries of behaviour versus walking in purity and financial integrity: Cult cross-biblical boundaries of behaviour especially in immorality and finances. False teachers can be detected by their covetousness and immorality. (2PETER 2:18)
Separation from the church versus a culture of honour towards the church: Cults separate from the wider church and operate with an elite spirit, believing that they alone have a special status with God. They have a polarized mentality of “us versus them.” They criticize the larger body of Christ and often claim to be the only ones truly saved. They view all other ministry and denominations as being in error. They lay much Emphasis on special revelations that contradict Scripture versus loyalty to Scripture: Cult emphasize the special revelations of their leader that contradict the Scripture
Unquestionable commitment to a domineering leader
Cult members are “focused on a living leader to whom members seem to display excessively zealous, unquestioning commitment.” The leader is a strong-willed, domineering character who rules the group with tight control. He lets it be known in subtle ways that he is in charge of the movement. He makes the plans; he orchestrates the movements of the group or groups. He exercises his sway over them. He dispatches the workers, assigns their chores. Frequently, they begin to imitate his mannerisms in terms of voice inflection, language patterns, aggressive attitudes, etc. They become clones of their esteemed leader. It is not uncommon that the leader knows of weaknesses or past problems of people within the group. Thus, through subtle intimidation and fear he keeps them under his control.
Dissent and Discussion discouraged. “Questioning, doubt, and dissent are discouraged,” and there can be pressure or social punishment when there is disagreement with the “Boss.” Those who disagree are made to feel as though they are stupid or inept. They are brainwashed with notion that they do not have the knowledge or experience to question the leader. Younger people are particularly vulnerable to the leader’s gift of gab and his feigned expertise. No matter how radical the leader becomes in his decisions or actions, the cult members will not criticize him. Even if there should be mild disagreement, no specific expressions are voiced. The members reason that though he may be mistaken in some of his judgments, yet the overall good he accomplishes outweighs any minor flaws. Members are taught to “rationalize” the conduct of the leader in matters they have always “considered unethical before,” under the guise that the “end justifies the means.”

The leader is preoccupied with raising money. There is always a need for increasing finances. New projects are ever in the planning. Members are strongly encouraged to greatly sacrifice for the leader’s current pet enterprise. There is little pressure let up; members of the group must be kept revved up on a continual basis. The cult leader always takes the major credit for the movement’s accomplishment. Members become psychologically dependent upon him. “What would we ever do without our leader?” is the cult mentality.
The cult leader generates within his members “a polarized” mentality. His people evolve an, us-versus-them outlook. Little by little, he criticizes other groups with which his members might tend to associates, undermining confidence in them, attempting to discredit anyone who could have influence over his flock. Cult members become suspicious; they imbibe the critical disposition. “No one is really sound as we are. We are an elitist group.” Therefore, seeds of isolationism are sown. The movement leader discourages reading any material, examining any ideas that he does not generate. He seeks to control the inflow of knowledge relative to his group.
The cult leader has a clearly defined anti-authoritarian disposition. Within the context of the church, for instance, he would have an “anti-elder” attitude. Elders would be recipients of constant critical remarks. No cult leader would affiliate himself with a congregation having elders to whom he must be in submission. Control could not be maintained in such an environment. The cult leader will constantly criticize preachers, particularly those whose knowledge of the Scriptures eclipse his own. Members must be made to feel that he is the chief authority in spiritual matters.
Cult members are seen occasionally to take on a new personality. They begin to act differently. They become increasingly antagonistic to family members and long time friends. They may even boast, “I am not the old (name) that you used to know; I am a new person now.” In addition, indeed they are. They have become strangers to those who knew them well. They have been transformed into the image of their leader. The Christian must always be on guard against cult-like figures who would control their thinking and life patterns. Our challenge is to bring “every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ” (2CORINTHIANS 10:5), AND TO NONE OTHER.
Ask yourself few questions before you join that group: Do they claim to have a special corner on the truth, something no other groups has? Are you told to not question what is being taught, as the leadership are godly, honest, have divine authority and you must trust them? Are you discouraged from asking questions as to why members have left, and expected to accept the reasons the group leadership gives you? Do they put down other churches, groups, etc, while pointing out their faults and errors to build themselves up? Do they use people’s faults and sins as examples of what to do and what not to do? Are you made to feel your failures, as though your performance is not up to par to their righteous standards? Do they stop you from reading anything negative about themselves? Do they call those who fall away enemies, dogs, prostitutes, thieves, even using examples from the Bible or other such materials? Do they place and emphasis on evil and the devil, declaring that the world outside is a threat to the group?Do they defend themselves in every area? Do they encourage and enforced individuality, whereby causing divisions among the members; so that they will not be able to exchange notes on the leader or his teachings in case they are suspicious? Do they operate in humility, or seem arrogant, and make demands on you to obey, using such statements such as “real believers obey without question or if you really were a devoted follower you would do such and such”?

Beware of instant bonding or friendship without even knowing you. Being told you have a special gift, or talents, calling, or potential and that if you join you will move further ahead: flattery is used often in cults. When you ask questions about the history of the group, and the answers are vague or avoided altogether, feeling that something is being hidden from you, please make the best use of your legs- RUN, RUN, RUN! for your LIFE!
