“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and-.-.-.-to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” —Luke 4:18-19

Jesus not only testified to be the Son of God, but He attested that the source of His anointing was from God. This anointing cause Jesus to do good Acts 10:38, “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” Acts 10:38 NKJV

Friends, if your anointing causes frictions, hatred, backbiting, unholy enrichments in the body of Christ, it is not the same anointing on Christ.
The disciples got infected when they saw His good works, and out of excitement they asked Him what they must do to do the work of the Father which they saw Jesus doing. He said there is no short cut to this spiritual attainment (anointing), but only to believe. Believing is the keyword. Jesus said, “believe in Him whom the Father sent,” Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?” Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”
John 6:28-29 NKJV
So also the Apostles, through Apostle Peter mimics their Master in the Book of Acts 2:37-39,
Now when they heard this,  they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”
Acts 2:37-39 NKJV
Here He gives the purpose of His earthly ministry:
* to preach the gospel to the destitute and afflicted;
* to those whose spirits have been crushed by the world;
* to heal the oppressed;
* to open the spiritual eyes of those blinded by Satan;
* and to declare that today is the day of freedom.
If you are in the kingdom and filled with His Spirit, you are also anointed for this same purpose. The anointing is given to meet the needs of others. Step out in faith to minister to the hurting in your family, your neighborhood and your city.
Jesus, open my eyes to see the destitute, afflicted,
brokenhearted, oppressed, sick, and blind people around me. Anoint me to set them free with the Goodnews message. Amen

Freely give!
