In sharp contrast to the prosperity gospel emphasis on gaining money and possessions in this life, Jesus said, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal” (Matthew 6:19). The irreconcilable contradictions between prosperity teaching and the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ is best summed up in the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:24, “You cannot serve both God and money.”
What more could prove that this charlatan, con-artist called T.B. Joshua has become an embarrassment to Nigeria, and he is a dangerous false prophet than him not been able to see the collapse of his own building which killed over 115 gullible foreigners. He is always very quick to put out over edited videos and Photoshop pictures, purporting to have predicted many disaster happening around the world to look relevant, but right in his compound he could not predict to avert those that add up to the number of people that perished in his own house.
If T.B. Joshua truly has power to heal or raise the dead, what about many other visitors who died under his roof without been able to raise them to life? The incident of the first story I recounted in this Chapter took place at the adjacent room to where T.B. Joshua slept that fateful day in his bedroom; until I woke T.B. Joshua up from his sleep that morning, he was sleeping next room to a dead man.
THE TELLTALE IS GONE, PACKAGING IS DECEPTIVE! Know that we are in the time of deception spoken of by the Lord Jesus and His Apostles; we are in a highly polluted world where deception thrives from the topmost echelon height to the grassroots of the society. We are in a time when magicians do no longer parade themselves openly...
Those things in life that daily pressurizes people and can cause the naive and the vulnerable to be knocking on the doors of prayer contractors and spiritual arrangers, intending to cut deals with ‘God’ if possible; rather than to go on their knees to call upon their Creator for Mercy and restoration, are still thriving in our world today. Evil seems to run rampant everywhere, but only God is the solution to all fundamental issues of life, not any man because there is nothing God created that He cannot control. The psalmist says, “I will lift up my eyes to the hills— from whence comes my help? 2My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth” PSALMS 121:1-2 NKJV.
Jesus Christ consistently encourages us to be an overcomer like Himself Rev. 2&3 and He profoundly counselled us in Rev. 3:18 "I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that you mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see." This simply means if we are in Him, and He in us, the wicked on cannot tempt us to continue to live sin.
God uses many avenues to reach those He came to save, including gospel crusades. As His followers, we should be actively involved in helping Him through every means possible. When we support gospel crusades through our time, finances, and participation and, at the same time, seek to draw people to Jesus through our personal witness, we can be confident that we are obeying Jesus’ last words to us and helping Him make disciples of all nations.
In all these, the relevant question for every professed child of God is: are you ready to receive Him back? are you prepared? are you even looking forward to this great return of our Lord, Master, Elder brother, our nearest kinsman, husband of the Church, Savior, Messiah, The Rewarder, Jesus The Christ.
Yes, the Bible tells us we should “pray continually” (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Unfortunately, for many of us, a few minutes spent in prayer feels like forever. Why do we struggle so much with prayer when we know how vital it is to our relationship with God?
We need to keep the families of the departed in our prayers to be strong, and continue to used this sad occurrence as deterrents to others who are in habits of looking for spiritual arrangers and false prophets.
the pursuit of Christian spirituality will result in what the Bible calls the fruit of the Spirit: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law" (Galatians 5:22-23).
No one will do it for you but you to encourage yourself in the Lord your God like David in 1Samuel 30:1-6. The Word of God cannot fail Psalms 119:89
